Pulling together some Literacy sites:

A grand forks project called "project advancing Literacy": some funding ideas available here.

The GF project is sponsored by ProLiteracy America, and ProLiteracy America is doing some Adult Literacy Training in Mpls, date TBA. Part of our plan would be to join ProLiteracy America: $150 per year. Training trip would be nice.

You know, I found all this stuff last year and posted it on the IWS course site.

Perhaps we should write into the grant a request to organize events for International Reading Day and National Literacy Week. Assuming NLW is going to be Jan/Feb 2005, the dates are well spaced. SCALE is the national student organization for literacy education--perhaps we can get a SCALE chapter going.

Have we got enough?
Join ProLiteracy America.
Be the Virtual Community Literacy Center for starters.
Send people to Mpls for Adult Literacy training.
Organize International Literacy Day.
Organize NLW.
Organize a SCale chapter.

Budget this out over 3 years, if possible, and talk about seeking additional funding to sustain and expand.
